Mr. Swartz Biography

Mr. Swartz has more than 25 year of hands-on computer engineering experience in complex secure heterogeneous computing environments for the U.S. intelligence community. In 1992 Mr. Swartz was one of the key engineers in developing the first-generation Multi-Level Security (MLS) products. Working directly with both Sun Microsystems and Digital Equipment Corporation, Mr. Swartz was one of the first engineers to integrate Oracle’s trusted database on these Compartment Mode Workstations (CMW). Supporting the Air Force’s Electronic Security Command’s, Space and Advanced Programs and Special Programs offices, Mr Swartz was the lead and founding engineer in a World Wide Lan (WAN) implementation of PL-4 secure computing technology, a very first of it’s kind. Mr. Swartz was the key founding engineer for the Trusted Network Environment (TNE) secure desktop from 1995-2000, eventually being promoted to Technical Director, Advanced Information Systems at General Dynamics in 2001. Mr. Swartz was responsible for all secure software engineering, testing, and delivery for this $20M a year effort.

In 2004, Mr. Swartz moved to Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. and led the trusted application development lab in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Swartz led his team of highly-skilled secure systems engineers in the design, development, and deployment of several complex secure commercial software products for TCS supporting the U.S. Air Force, Army, and other organizations. In 2009 Mr. Swartz was promoted to Regional Director, Professional Services in support of company expansion efforts and accepting additional responsibility in project management and business growth. Mr. Swartz remains a consultant for Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. where his vast history and skills in secure computing environments are leveraged to provide continued support across the company’s projects.
